The Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Exercise and Fitness (Personal Training) is designed for those who already work in the health and fitness industry and wish to gain new knowledge and skills to continue their professional development as well as for those who wish to enter the sector in a supervisory / managerial role. The framework is also suitable for those wishing to change career after having worked in a different sector, entering this sector changing their hobby into a job.

Some of the main learning outcomes for this apprenticeship include; how to communicate with clients effectively, and motivate clients to adhere to an exercise programme, how to apply the principles of nutrition to support client goals as part of an exercise and physical activity programme, how to design, manage, and adapt a personal training programme with apparently healthy adults of all ages, how to deliver exercise and physical activity as part of a programme for apparently healthy adults of all ages. 


This apprenticeship framework is set at level 3.


This apprenticeship takes a minimum of 12 months to complete.

Level 2 Fitness instructing (Gym) qualification
